About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our estimating team at PCL Constructors Pacific Rim PTY Ltd. As a Junior Estimator, you will play a critical role in supporting our estimators in preparing bids and proposals for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with estimators to prepare accurate and comprehensive bids and proposals, ensuring timely submission and meeting client expectations.
  2. Conduct thorough quantity, material, and labor takeoffs from project documents, applying material unit prices and labor productivities to estimates.
  3. Assist with bid document control, organizing and archiving all relevant information for successful transfer to the project team.
  4. Support the lead bid runner with bid-day assignments, ensuring seamless execution and communication.
  5. Solicit competitive pricing from subtrade partners and suppliers, fostering strong relationships and driving cost savings.
  6. Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including lead estimators, lead bid runners, subtrade partners, and suppliers.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
  2. Relevant experience in a construction environment is preferred, with a strong understanding of the construction industry and bid preparation principles.
  3. Proficiency in takeoff systems and estimating software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to converse with trades and solicit subtrade partners and suppliers.
  5. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
