Job Summary

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract role as a Claims Adjuster - Personal Lines. The primary purpose of this role is to produce high-quality work products on Personal Lines Claims through prompt and professional contact with customers and brokers and effective investigation, reserving, and adjustment of claims incurred by insureds.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of claims for Personal Lines claims as allocated and analyze first reports to determine the nature of loss, coverage provided, and scope of damage.
  • Assess claims in accordance with Chubb's service level and quality requirements and the General Insurance Code of Practice.
  • Communicate with brokers, claimants, and others as required via telephone and written correspondence.
  • Promptly document all developments on the claim workstation file.
  • Participate in Claim Department and company-wide training as required.
  • Seek technical assistance in handling claims exceeding delegated authority.
  • Respond to enquiries and escalations from underwriters, brokers, and customers, and work with underwriters, the Compliance Department, and other departments as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualified.
  • Investigation techniques.
  • Written and verbal communication related to claims handling.

  • Legal requirements and regulations.
  • Damage and/or loss evaluation.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Litigation procedures.
  • Reserving skills.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this role is around $60,000-$80,000 depending on location and experience.
