Private Tax Advisor

As a trusted tax advisor in our Private Tax team, you will play a key role in supporting high-net-worth individuals, families and businesses with complex tax matters.

We are looking for experienced advisors to join us. We offer a dynamic work environment that encourages professional growth and development, as well as opportunities to work closely with iconic private businesses and families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing advice on Division 7A, complex trust distribution, capital management strategies, capital gains tax, tax consolidation, restructures, company and trust losses, tax residency, thin capitalisation rules and controlled foreign company regimes;
  • Offering tax compliance, tax planning and advisory services for large client groups with multiple types of entities including trusts, companies, partnerships and individuals;
  • Assisting clients with accounting and tax compliance services such as special purpose financial statements, income tax returns, Fringe Benefits Tax returns, annual withholding statements and other ATO compliance obligations;
  • Preparing calculations in respect of income tax consolidation, AASB12 tax effect accounting and thin capitalisation;
  • Assisting clients with complex transactions, including pre-transaction restructuring, tax due diligence and capital gains tax consequences;
  • Preparing submissions to the ATO in respect of private binding rulings, voluntary disclosures, responses to ATO reviews and audits;
  • Providing family advisory services including succession and estate planning;
  • Liaising with the ATO in relation to Top 500, Next 5000 and Top 1000 programs;
  • Applying your tax knowledge and experience to clients across all sectors of the Australian economy;
  • Managing a client portfolio and building relationships with your clients.

As a member of our Private Tax team, you will be valued for:

  • Leveraging your extensive experience in tax or business services;
  • Being CA/CPA qualified;
  • Holding relevant qualifications in taxation, accounting, or a related field;
  • Having proven experience in tax management, with a strong understanding of private tax and accounting concepts;
  • Excelling in communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Showing strong problem-solving and analytical abilities;
  • Having a proactive and client-focused approach.
