The Role

We are seeking a registered electrical engineer or a licensed industrial electrician to lead our national electrical safety and compliance efforts.

This challenging role will see you encounter a range of electrical installations and equipment types across several Australian States and Territories.

Responsibilities include developing, implementing and periodically reviewing electrical policies, procedures and processes;
ensuring electrical safety audits are performed and electrical safety requirements are being met;
providing advice and support to electrical design, installations, operations and maintenance;
ensuring compliance with all relevant electrical regulations and standards;
maintaining electrical registers (including licenses, registration and equipment);
reviewing and endorsing risk assessments pertaining to electrical safety.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop, implement, and review electrical policies, procedures, and processes;
  • Ensure electrical safety audits are conducted and electrical safety requirements are met;
  • Provide advice and support to electrical design, installations, operations, and maintenance;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical regulations and standards;
  • Maintain electrical registers (including licenses, registration, and equipment);
  • Review and endorse risk assessments pertaining to electrical safety.

Achievements/Benefits:

- Lead the Electrical Safety Working Group
- Provide expertise and advice on electrical work and safety including legislative changes impacting our electrical work and safety;
- State and Territory requirements for specific activity licenses such as electrical, fire, security, and communications systems;
- Specialist advice to relevant electrical safety investigations.

Requirements:

  • Professional registration as an Electrical Engineer or a licensed industrial electrician who has previously held, or currently holds an electrical contractors license
  • Knowledge of Australian State and Territory Electrical and Occupational Health & Safety legislation and regulations
  • Proactive, problem-solving, energetic, team-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
