Electrical Safety Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Specialist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about improving electrical safety and reducing risk of death and injury from electrical shock, fire and explosion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of electrical safety in Queensland through legislation, standards and codes with emphasis on industry knowledge and technological developments in electrical and electronics equipment, including emerging technology and renewables.
  • Undertake research on electrical equipment safety, legislative and operational issues.
  • Participate in auditing, investigating and reporting on unapproved or defective electrical equipment, or fires resulting from electrical causes.
  • Help raise electrical safety awareness in the electrical industry and wider community by presentations and education initiatives.

Requirements

  • A passion for electrical safety and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering or a related field, such as electrical and renewable power.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and objectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, build and sustain positive relationships, and respond to changes in client needs and expectations.
