Family and Relationship Counsellor

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family and Relationship Counsellor to join our dedicated team and deliver high-quality support services to individuals, couples, children, and families across the community.

The ideal candidate will provide professional counselling and support services to those facing complex challenges such as domestic and family violence, separation, trauma, or parenting difficulties. They will also be responsible for managing intake and assessment processes, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to continuous improvement activities.

The successful applicant will possess tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences, and be eligible for professional membership with APS, AASW or similar. They will also have experience in contemporary counselling techniques and excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver trauma-informed, client-centred counselling and brief intervention services
  • Facilitate therapeutic and psycho-educational groups
  • Manage intake and assessment processes
  • Maintain high standards of record keeping, data collection, and reporting
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences
  • Eligibility for professional membership with APS, AASW or similar
  • Experience in contemporary counselling techniques (e.g., solution-focused, trauma-informed, family systems)
  • Strong understanding of Domestic & Family Violence, Child Protection, and Family Law
