The Opportunity

The Tasman Hobart is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Duty Manager. We are in search of hospitality professionals who are passionate about delivering seamless and transformative guest experiences while managing administrative and communication responsibilities.

If you possess a background in a similar capacity, are a natural organizer, adept at multitasking, detail-oriented, and capable of addressing issues with composure and professionalism, this position may be ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities

Begin your journey with us as a Night Duty Manager. Your role will encompass processing guest check-ins and check-outs, managing room assignments and changes, securing payments, activating and reissuing room keys, and addressing guest inquiries. You will ensure a consistently exceptional guest experience in all your interactions.

  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and motivate others; advocate for sound financial and business decision-making; demonstrate integrity and lead by example.
  • Supervise and manage team members, overseeing daily operations and understanding employee roles well enough to perform their duties in their absence.
  • Foster open, collaborative relationships with staff and encourage the same within the team.
  • Analyze financial statements, sales reports, and performance data to assess productivity and goal achievement, identifying areas for cost reduction and program enhancement.
  • Assist in addressing and resolving guest issues directly or through Guest Relations.
  • Ensure timely research and processing of all chargebacks and rebates.
  • Handle complaints, mediate disputes, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with all departments to support property operations and expedite the resolution of any issues that may arise.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience as a Front Office Duty Manager.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, thorough follow-up, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to emotionally connect with guests and deliver superior service.
  • Experience in conflict resolution.
  • Flexibility to work a 24-hour rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Familiarity with OPERA property management system is a distinct advantage.
  • Must possess full working rights for Australia.
