We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Coordinator to join our team in a temporary capacity. This exciting role will play a vital part in supporting waste education and engagement initiatives.

The successful candidate will have strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle competing deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute effective marketing campaigns for waste education programs, utilizing web content, email updates, social media ads, and printed materials.
  • Coordinate the creation of visually appealing posters, digital screen artwork, and promotional materials, ensuring branding consistency and accuracy.
  • Maintain and update web content and communications related to waste and recycling programs.
  • Efficiently manage approvals, feedback, and revisions to meet deadlines.
  • Analyze campaign performance to optimize outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Utilize project management tools such as Jira, records management software like Trim, and Microsoft Office applications for content development.
Essential Criteria
  • A degree in communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in a communications, marketing, or public engagement role is required.
  • Proven track record of developing successful marketing campaigns and promotional materials across multiple channels.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a focus on clear messaging and plain English.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with social media advertising, website updates, and digital communications is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word applications, Jira, Google Analytics 4, and Trim is required.
  • Commitment to waste reduction, recycling, and environmental sustainability is a must.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience working in government or community engagement roles is an asset.
  • Knowledge of waste and recycling programs is beneficial.
  • Graphic design skills or experience working with designers to develop visual content is a plus.
