Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective community engagement strategies to increase mental health literacy and promote headspace services.
  • Work collaboratively with the local community, young people, family and friends, and local services to develop strong working relationships and build trust.
  • Coordinate the centre Youth Reference Group to ensure that the voices of young people are heard and valued.
  • Liaise with the headspace team to ensure that community awareness and engagement activities are consistent with local needs and evidence-based practice.
  • Facilitate talks, workshops and groups to educate and reduce mental health stigma.
  • Use a range of approaches to increase community awareness of headspace centre services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field such as social work, psychology or community development.
  • Experience in community engagement and development, preferably in a mental health context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
