Job Title: Support Specialist for Women and Children in Crisis

About the Role:

This is a pivotal position that requires an experienced professional to provide ongoing support and advocacy for housing solutions to women and children escaping family and domestic violence.

We are seeking a skilled individual with trauma-informed best practice knowledge to work collaboratively with refuge services and other support networks to ensure clients secure safe housing solutions.

Duties:
  • Support Clients: Assist clients to obtain and maintain long-term housing solutions, advocate on their behalf, and provide relevant information to help them secure safe housing.
  • Assertive Case Management: Provide ongoing support and assertive case management where a client's tenancy is at risk.
  • Court Support and Advocacy: Offer relevant information, support, and advocacy to clients, including court support and transport to appointments.
  • Ongoing Case Management: Provide intensive ongoing case management to ensure clients are fully supported once they have moved into housing.
  • Community Engagement: Build strong relationships and networks with housing providers, real estate agents, and government departments to ensure successful outcomes from client referrals.
