Sustainable Waste Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in a part-time capacity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for sorting and separating of recycling and organic waste into appropriate waste streams, providing high standard of sustainable services & recyclable advice based on state and regulatory requirements, operating in line with infection control standards and WHS policy & procedures, delivering excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients, and assisting the production teams to ensure patient satisfaction is achieved at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sorting and separating of recycling and organic waste into appropriate waste streams
  • Provide high standard of sustainable services & recyclable advice based on state and regulatory requirements
  • Operate in line with infection control standards and WHS policy & procedures
  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
  • Act in accordance with all manual handling protocols
  • Assisting the production teams to ensure patient satisfaction is achieved at all times
  • Demonstrate professional practice by working according to Healthscope's policies and processes, code of conduct and by participating in yearly performance appraisals and mandatory education
  • Supports Healthscope's safety and quality improvement in all aspects of safety including Work Health & Safety

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as cleaner or infectious cleaning specialist in a hospital environment or similar
  • Have enthusiasm, drive and passion to prepare and maintain an appropriate work area to the highest standard of excellence
  • Good communication and customer service skills;
  • Previous experience in a sustainability/recycle position (desirable)
