Freight Forwarder Job

The Freight Forwarder is a key role in ensuring the smooth transportation of goods from one location to another. The position involves overseeing the entire import process, including customs clearance, carrier bookings, and tracking cargo.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of ocean import operations from port arrival through final delivery.
  • Coordination with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies for timely delivery.
  • Monitoring and tracking shipments, providing regular updates to customers.
  • Preparation and submission of necessary documentation for customs clearance.
  • Compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers through excellent service.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics preferred.
  • Direct experience in ocean import operations highly advantageous.
  • Basic calculations skills related to freight costs and rates.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Industry Knowledge:
  • Solid understanding of ocean freight procedures and customs regulations.
  • Familiarity with international trade compliance and relevant laws.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages beneficial.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with logistics or freight forwarding software an advantage.
