About the Role

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Auxiliary Firefighter to join its team. As a key member of the emergency services team, you will play a critical role in responding to emergency incidents and supporting the community through education and outreach activities.

Key Responsibilities

Emergency Response

As an Auxiliary Firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to emergency incidents, including fires, rescues, and other life-threatening situations. You will work closely with our team of experienced firefighters to provide a high level of service to the community.

Community Education and Outreach

You will also contribute to community education and outreach activities, promoting fire safety and emergency preparedness to the public. This will involve working with local communities, schools, and other stakeholders to deliver engaging and informative programs.

Training and Development

To ensure you have the skills and knowledge required to perform your role effectively, you will participate in regular training and development programs. These will cover topics such as firefighting techniques, emergency medical procedures, and communication skills.

Teamwork and Collaboration

As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with other firefighters, emergency services personnel, and community leaders to achieve our goals and objectives. You will be expected to communicate effectively, provide support and guidance to your colleagues, and contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence
  • Employers written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of the auxiliary fire station
