About the Role

AusNet Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Asset Engineer to join our team in Melbourne CBD. As a key member of our Asset Management team, you will be responsible for providing expert input and advice on high voltage switchgear and instrument transformers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise across the entire asset lifecycle, with a focus on high voltage switchgear and instrument transformers.
  • Develop plant strategies and asset management plans to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report asset performance, condition, and maintenance data.
  • Investigate and analyze equipment failures or problems, and draft reports.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of engineering and equipment standards and designs.
  • Provide expert input for contestable projects in development and delivery phases.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in the electricity industry, preferably in asset owning organizations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of HV assets, with a focus on HV switchgear and instrument transformers.
  • Knowledge of relevant condition monitoring and assessment techniques for HV switchgear and instrument transformers.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to operate from a contestable context.
  • Understanding of Asset Management leading practices, frameworks, and relevant standards.
