Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of track-mounted crushers and screens.

About the Role

In this critical leadership position, you will be responsible for ensuring crushing targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met in accordance with client contract terms and safety protocols. Your experience and expertise will be essential in achieving these goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure crushing targets and KPIs are met in accordance with client contract terms and safety protocols.
  • Communicate daily objectives with crushing, maintenance, and contracting personnel.
  • Implement, maintain, and manage systematic routine maintenance and schedule preventative maintenance programs in liaison with the Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Monitor wear parts life and report costs to the Project Manager monthly.
  • Assess, order, and monitor crusher parts and consumables.
  • Authorise all crushing personnel timesheets and ensure correct hours are listed.
  • Provide training and learning opportunities to employees and sub-contractors.
  • Perform performance management tasks, including providing constructive criticism and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Ensure Joint Safety Observations (JSAs) are reviewed prior to each shift.
  • Personally inspect and monitor high-risk activities and ensure effective controls are in place.
  • Report incidents and accidents to the Project Manager and conduct investigations when required.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Section 26 training.
  • 5 years' experience in previous crushing leadership roles.
  • Frontline management certificate.
  • Current clean driver's license.
  • Sound knowledge of safety systems.
  • Able to lead a team safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Ability to meet required KPIs.
  • Mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Good planning and time management skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
