Senior Reliability Engineer Opportunity

This is a critical role that will lead the development of strategies to ensure high-speed machinery and rotating equipment operate at optimal levels.

The successful candidate will take ownership of machinery uptime and performance across a 24/7 manufacturing operation, driving preventative strategies and analysing asset performance to deliver reliability improvements for high-speed lines and rotating equipment.

As a Senior Reliability Engineer, you will work closely with maintenance, production, and CI teams to reduce failures, increase uptime, and support safe and sustainable performance across site.

  • Lead root cause analysis, asset reviews, and reliability investigations to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and improve preventative maintenance strategies to prevent equipment failure and optimise asset performance.
  • Monitor asset performance and drive reliability improvement projects to reduce downtime and increase overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Optimise spare parts and maintenance planning using CMMS to ensure efficient maintenance operations and reduce waste.
  • Support and mentor maintenance teams in best-practice reliability to ensure consistency and quality across site.
  • Work across production and engineering to improve plant efficiency and optimise processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mechanical or engineering background with a focus on pulp, paper, or manufacturing.
  • Strong experience with rotating equipment and high-speed machinery, including knowledge of troubleshooting and repair techniques.
  • Previous exposure to 24/7 manufacturing environments and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to analyse failure trends and implement practical solutions to improve equipment performance.
  • Hands-on mindset and ability to influence on-the-floor teams to adopt new practices and technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of safety practices and plant operations to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with regulations.
  • CMMS experience (e.g. MEX, SAP, or similar) to manage maintenance operations and track equipment performance.
