  • Usual work location in Melbourne (flexibility available) The Role:
  • The Advanced Manufacturing Trade Specialist reports to the Lead within the Trade Branch.
  • Liaising with industry and government stakeholders to promote Victoria's strengths and facilitate trade development and investment.
  • Developing key relationships with Austrade, DFAT, foreign government trade offices, chambers of commerce, industry associations, and consular representatives to target and maximise investment and trade opportunities for Victorian businesses.
  • The position forms part of the Trade, Global Engagement and International Education and Migration branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment group.
  • The Industry, Trade and Investment group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation, and increase Victoria's international competitiveness.

  • About the Role:
  • The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of the Advanced Manufacturing sector and a proven track record in delivering trade outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, networking, and communication skills are essential.
  • Stakeholder management is crucial, identifying issues in common for one or more stakeholders and using them to build mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Finding innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement market access and trade activities/projects on behalf of DJSIR to improve the export capability and performance of Victoria's Advanced Manufacturing sector.
  • Liaising with relevant industry, government, and commercial stakeholders in Australia and export markets to promote Victoria's strengths and facilitate trade development and investment.
  • Identifying, developing, and fostering key relationships with key stakeholders to target and maximise investment and trade opportunities for Victorian businesses.
