About the Community Patrol Officer Role

The City of Stirling is seeking a Community Patrol Officer to join our Community Safety team.

As a Community Patrol Officer, you will work with the community to create a safer City by providing a highly visible and responsive service that engages with the community.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct community patrols throughout the City's 30 unique suburbs.
  2. Observe, monitor and report suspicious behaviours to reduce preventable crime.
  3. Provide advice and information on various relevant Acts, Regulations and Local Laws.
  4. Investigate complaints and action solutions for our Community.
  5. Collaborate with WA Police as required, sharing relevant information.

Requirements

  1. Security industry or related experience, including experience with community patrols, alarm response protocol and using CCTV systems.
  2. An understanding of local community safety and security issues.
  3. The ability to confidently engage with the community and deal with difficult situations to achieve positive outcomes.
  4. Experience in accurately reporting and capturing information in reporting systems.
  5. Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. The ability to think on your feet and problem solve using professional judgement in a lawful and accountable way.

About You

We are looking for a motivated, engaging and customer-focused individual to join our team. Essential qualifications include a Certificate II in Security Operations, a valid Western Australian 'C' class Driver's licence, a valid Western Australian Security Officer licence, and a WA Crowd Controller license.

These permanent full-time positions are Level 5 Inside Workforce Agreement positions which attract a salary from $74, to $78, per annum plus superannuation plus penalties where applicable.

To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have the ability to obtain a:

  1. 100 points of identification.
  2. National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months).
  3. Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance.
  4. The right to work in Australia.
