Job Title: Redress Program ManagerAbout the Role

The Victorian Government seeks a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the implementation of reform, legislation, system performance, policies and programs across a range of services for people who have experienced abuse, neglect and time in institutional settings.

This includes overseeing and leading the delivery of services as part of the National Redress Scheme and the Victorian Redress for Historical Institutional Abuse scheme (Redress).

  • Manage cross-government work with the Commonwealth and other jurisdictions relating to Victorian Redress and National Redress and survivors of institutional care as children.
  • Oversee and synthesise existing effort that supports significant and growing policy and program areas including people with lived and living experience of historical institutional care settings; National Redress Scheme coordination and supports; establishment and delivery of Victorian Redress.
Key Accountabilities
  • Lead and oversee the design, implementation and operational delivery of reform, legislation, system performance, policies and programs across a range of services for people with lived and living experience of historical institutional care settings, and National and State redress schemes.
  • Collaborate with government departments including relevant Commonwealth government departments and entities, Victorian government departments of Justice and Community Safety, Education, Premier and Cabinet, Department of Treasury and Finance, Family Safety Victoria, Victoria Police, the Coroner, and the Commission for Children and Young People in the development and design of legislation, protocols, policies and new initiatives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A strong understanding of the issues facing people with lived and living experience of institutional care.
  • Experience in managing cross-government work and developing partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
