The Director of Redress and Reform will oversee and lead the development, implementation, and operation of reform initiatives, legislation, system performance, policies, and programs across various services for individuals who have experienced abuse, neglect, and time in institutional settings.
This includes leading the delivery of services as part of national redress schemes and overseeing the establishment and operation of state-based redress initiatives.
The role involves managing cross-government collaborations with federal and state jurisdictions relating to national and state-based redress schemes and survivors of institutional care as children.
This position will synthesise existing efforts that support significant policy and program areas, including people with lived and living experience of historical institutional care settings, national redress scheme coordination, and supports.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design, implementation, and operational delivery of reform initiatives, legislation, system performance, policies, and programs across various services for individuals with lived and living experience of historical institutional care settings and national and state-based redress schemes.
- Designing projects and initiatives within this area of responsibility and providing authoritative advice to government departments and stakeholder groups.
- Collaborating with government agencies, including relevant federal and state government departments, to develop and design legislation, protocols, policies, and new initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess strong relationships with department stakeholders, including government staff, external agencies, and service providers, to improve services to individuals and families.
Benefits of the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of redress initiatives that promote healing and justice for individuals affected by institutional abuse. The Director of Redress and Reform will play a critical role in shaping the direction of these initiatives and ensuring their successful implementation.
