Job Overview

  • The Director, Redress will oversee and lead the design and implementation of reform policies and programs across a range of services for people who have experienced abuse, neglect, and time in institutional settings.
  • This includes leading and delivering services as part of the National Redress Scheme and overseeing the delivery and operation of the Victorian Redress for Historical Institutional Abuse scheme.
  • The position will manage cross-government work with the Commonwealth and other jurisdictions relating to Victorian Redress and National Redress and survivors of institutional care as children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the development and operational delivery of reform policies and programs across a range of services for people with lived experience of historical institutional care settings and National and State redress schemes.
  • Collaborate with government departments to develop and design legislation, protocols, and new initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong productive relationships with department stakeholders to improve services to individuals and families.

Requirements

  • Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • Have a national police check and misconduct screening completed as part of the recruitment process.
