This is a key role within the finance team, where you will work closely with various departments to provide management accounting services, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial data to support high-quality management reporting and analysis.
Your initial focus will be on mapping out the organisation's current financial processes, identifying internal control risks, and optimising information flow. You will play a critical role in streamlining and enhancing existing workflows to develop a best-practice process framework that improves efficiency, mitigates risk, and supports informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, highlighting key metrics and trends.
- Perform variance analysis to compare actual results with budgets and forecasts, providing insights into financial performance.
- Conduct regular cost analysis to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
- Develop, implement, and assess the effectiveness of cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger by reviewing and reconciling accounts regularly.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring they are well-documented and properly approved.
- Identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency.
- Utilise financial software and tools to optimise and streamline accounting operations.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules and support both internal and external audit processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Experience in TM1 highly desirable
- Process mapping experience required
- Exhibits strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Possesses exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven experience in driving process improvements and implementing controls frameworks
- Only Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents will be considered at this time.
