Senior Leadership Role in Anaesthesia

Summary:

  • This is a key position within the Department of Anaesthesia.
  • The successful applicant will possess sound clinical knowledge, demonstrate commitment to leadership and staff development, and have proven ability in innovation, team building and strategic planning.

Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring effective and efficient clinical services through leadership and management.
  • Coordinating medical staff for safe and effective service delivery.
  • Overseeing departmental clinical governance.

The successful applicant will also contribute to teaching, accreditation readiness, incident management, and driving continuous improvement in patient care and service delivery.

Eligible appointees may be credentialed and privileged across other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

Requirements:

  • Possess or be eligible for specialist registration (Anaesthesia) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Possess Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) or equivalent.
  • Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
  • Sound clinical knowledge in Anaesthesiology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
