Job Overview

The Asset Maintenance Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring optimal outcomes for Mine Dewatering and Water Management assets. This position requires expertise in maintenance strategies, critical work instructions, and asset budget forecasting models.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the development and review of maintenance strategies to optimize cost and performance
  • Develop and review critical work instructions, check sheets, and maintenance work instructions
  • Collaborate with long-term planners to develop asset budget forecasting models aligned with lifecycle expectations
  • Define, develop, and deliver engineering solutions to minimize whole-of-life costs and maximize asset performance
  • Provide technical expertise to support business resolution of challenging faults and issues
  • Offer ongoing technical support to projects, operational readiness, and procurement teams
  • Assist site operational teams in recovering from major downtime events
  • Provide guidance on best practice processes and systems for managing dewatering and water management assets
  • Ensure governance on requested changes to inventory levels for high-value components
  • Explore opportunities to reduce risk exposures through process, equipment, and engineering enhancements
  • Engage and maintain strong relationships with site teams through regular visits and interactions
Requirements
  • Extensive operational experience and equipment technical expertise working with water management assets such as pumps, generators, and piping systems
  • Reliability engineering background with a focus on maintenance optimization
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of operational experience with heavy industry fixed plant assets preferably at senior engineer level
  • Well-developed interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP preferred)
