About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fire Assayer to join our team at ALS. As a Fire Assayer, you will play a critical role in the precious metal recovery process, working with traditional fire assay techniques to extract valuable metals from samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sample Preparation: Accurately weigh samples and add flux reagents as part of the fire assay process.
  • Fusion and Extraction: Fuse mixtures in a high-temperature furnace to extract precious metals, including gold.
  • Cupellation and Prilling: Perform cupellation and prilling daily to collect and prepare metal samples.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of samples, fusion pots, lead buttons, and prills before laboratory testing.
  • Record Keeping: Record any anomalies to ensure the accuracy and quality of the assay process.
  • Safety Procedures: Adhere strictly to fire assay safety procedures, proactively identifying and addressing potential safety issues.
