About the Role
Are you meticulous, safety-focused, and eager to engage in a hands-on position within a vibrant setting?

ALS Geochemistry is seeking a Fire Assayer to contribute to our Fire Assay division, where you will play a crucial role in the recovery of precious metals through established fire assay methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Precisely measure samples and incorporate flux reagents as part of the fire assay procedure.
  • Heat mixtures in a high-temperature furnace to extract valuable metals, including gold.
  • Carry out cupellation and prilling on a daily basis to gather and prepare metal samples.
  • Thoroughly inspect samples, fusion pots, lead buttons, and prills prior to laboratory analysis.
  • Document any discrepancies to maintain the integrity and quality of the assay process.
  • Strictly follow fire assay safety protocols, proactively identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards.

Compensation and Work Schedule
The starting wage is $33.53 per hour, with additional shift allowances of 15% for afternoon shifts and 20% for night shifts. As you gain experience in this role, opportunities for full-time employment and increased pay rates will be available. Penalty rates apply for weekend or overtime work, enhancing the advertised hourly rate.

This Casual position entails a Monday to Friday rotating 8-hour shift schedule, including one week each of Days, Nights, and Afternoons.
