Position Overview

We are seeking to fill a joint appointment for either an Associate Professor (Level D) or a Professor (Level E) of Midwifery within the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The successful candidate will provide leadership in analyzing contemporary trends and evidence-based practices in midwifery, influencing research, education, and practice.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Doctoral degree in midwifery or a related field, with proven expertise in modern midwifery education, research, and practice.
  • Registration as a midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility to obtain such registration.
  • A strong passion for collaborative research, with the ability to forge productive connections among clinicians, academics, and research students.
  • A successful track record in securing competitive research funding and disseminating research findings.

Employment Details

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for five years, with responsibilities shared equally between Griffith University and Gold Coast University Hospital. The successful candidate will be expected to work on-site at both locations.

Compensation Package

The salary for an Associate Professor (Level D) ranges from $159,740 to $175,985 per annum, complemented by a 17% employer superannuation contribution, totaling between $186,895 and $205,902. For a Professor (Level E), the base salary is $205,768 per annum, with a total package of $240,748.
