Residential Welfare Specialist

The Residential Welfare Worker plays a pivotal role in providing high-quality care to residents of Drug Health Services' AOD Residential Units.
This critical position operates across all hours of the service operation via a 24/7 rotating roster. The Residential Units Welfare Worker may be required to provide support to clients across both residential units, with primary responsibilities based at Westside Lodge.
On a daily basis, the DHS Welfare Worker delivers high-quality care in line with the 'Best Care' Framework, focusing on residential unit consumers and their support networks. This includes facilitating feedback on consumer behaviors, developing action plans as needed, and utilizing de-escalation skills to manage emotional wellbeing.
In addition to providing direct care, the Residential Welfare Worker contributes to multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences, driving the development and implementation of Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs).
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
As a key member of the Drug Health Services team, the Residential Welfare Worker will have access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities, ensuring they remain up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
Working closely with other members of the team, the Residential Welfare Worker will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care and support to those in need.
