Job Overview

This role is pivotal in maintaining a safe working environment within an underground mining context. The successful candidate will possess strong emergency response and rescue skills, with experience in team leadership and procedure development.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate injury management processes, including liaison with healthcare professionals and support for injured workers
  2. Contribute to injury incident investigations and reporting
  3. Assist the Site Registered Nurse with biological monitoring and wellness assessments
  4. Provide strategic direction to the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
  5. Develop, review, and maintain comprehensive emergency response protocols and systems
  6. Conduct regular inspections and stocktakes of on-site Mines Rescue equipment
  7. Evaluate training compliance with relevant legislation and company policies
  8. Develop, review, and facilitate risk assessments and rescue plans for confined spaces

This is a permanent full-time position with an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, flying in and out of Perth. The successful candidate will be based at the Jaguar Operation, utilizing predominantly long-hole stoping with backfill.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar underground mining role
  • RII30709 - Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Nationally Accredited Drug and Alcohol Testing training
  • Proven leadership in an Emergency Response Team
  • Experience in Mine Rescue, Emergency Response, and site Medic responsibilities
  • Ability to develop and deliver emergency response training
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
  • Strong communication and IT skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail
