Perth Underground Mining Emergency Response Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Response Specialist to join our team in Perth.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in emergency management and be able to provide leadership in emergency response situations.
This is a permanent full-time position on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, flying in and out of Perth.
The role involves facilitating injury management, supporting injured workers, and administering Return to Work Plans. Additionally, the specialist will support injury incident investigations and reporting, assist the site registered nurse with biological monitoring and wellness assessments, and develop and deliver emergency response training.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar underground mining role, hold relevant certifications such as RII Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue, and possess excellent communication and IT skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitating injury management and Return to Work Plans;
- Supporting injury incident investigations and reporting;
- Assisting the Site Registered Nurse with biological monitoring and wellness assessments;
- Developing and delivering emergency response training;
- Conducting inspections and stocktakes of all on-site Mines Rescue equipment;
- Ensuring training complies with legislation and company policies;
- Developing, reviewing, and maintaining emergency response procedures and systems;
- Developing, reviewing, and facilitating risk assessments and rescue plans for confined spaces.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar underground mining role;
- RII Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue;
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
- Nationally Accredited Drug and Alcohol Testing training;
- Proven leadership in an Emergency Response Team;
- Experience in Mine Rescue, Emergency Response, and site Medic responsibilities;
- Ability to develop and deliver emergency response training;
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations;
- Strong communication and IT skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail.

Employees travel to site via weekly charter flights to Leonora or on commercial flights. Upon arrival at Leonora airport, employees are transferred to the village, approximately 40 minutes away.
