About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our Advancement Office as an Executive Director, Advancement. This is a key role that will provide leadership and direction to our development and community engagement activities, with a focus on attracting substantial philanthropic investment in the University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Advancement Office, embedding sustainable development initiatives across the University's fundraising, alumni, and community outreach frameworks.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to attract major gifts and philanthropic investment in the University.
  • Lead and manage a team of development professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality fundraising and community engagement programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and community leaders, to promote the University's mission and goals.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective financial management and reporting.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across the University to advance the strategic objectives of the Advancement Office.

  • Proven track record of success in development and community engagement, with a strong understanding of philanthropic principles and practices.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective strategies to achieve fundraising and community engagement goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Desirable
  • Experience in the tertiary education sector, preferably in a role featuring development and/or community engagement activities.
