About the Role

This permanent part-time position requires a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to work three days a week in Sydney's CBD. As an integral member of our team, you will provide mediation services to families experiencing conflict and separation issues.

Job Description

As a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, your primary responsibilities include providing mediation, therapeutic mediation, legally assisted mediation, and child-inclusive practice within the context of the Family Law Act. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of therapists and FDRPs to support separated families.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should be accredited by the Australian Attorney-General's Department (AGD) as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or have eligibility to apply for accreditation. Additionally, you must possess tertiary qualifications in law, psychology, or social work.

You will also need to demonstrate:

  • Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (Australian Attorney-General's Department)
  • An understanding of the process and purpose of child-inclusive mediation practice
  • Knowledge of family law legislation
  • Knowledge and understanding of community services, especially those relating to families experiencing relationship difficulties
  • An understanding of child protection issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as contribute to the functioning of the team
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and writing skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Meeting program-specific client targets
