About the Role

This is a permanent part-time position working three days a week, specifically Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The successful candidate will be based in Sydney's CBD.

As a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner at Uniting, you will provide a range of interventions to families experiencing conflict and unable to agree on parenting arrangements or property distribution. These interventions include mediation, therapeutic mediation, legally assisted mediation, and child-inclusive practice within the context of the Family Law Act.

Our innovative telehealth and digital options enable us to provide services to families in a variety of settings. You will work collaboratively with a dynamic team of therapists and FDRPs to support separated families.

About You

  • Accredited by the Australian Attorney-General's Department as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or eligibility to apply for accreditation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, psychology, or social work.
  • Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or ability to complete training to meet accreditation requirements.
  • Understanding of child-inclusive mediation practice and family law legislation.
  • Knowledge of community services, particularly those related to families experiencing relationship difficulties.
  • Understanding of child protection issues.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the functioning of the team.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and writing skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Meet program-specific client targets.
