Job Title: Area Business Group Manager

This senior leadership role involves overseeing the operational delivery of our Building Engineering Services business across Australia. The successful candidate will report directly to the Country Director of Operations.

The key responsibility includes managing the operations and performance of the BES business, collaborating closely with leadership teams to drive operational excellence and foster effective collaboration across market sectors and business units.

  • Leadership Qualities:
  • Proven experience in consulting engineering, preferably with a tertiary qualification and professional registration.
  • Strong experience leading cross-functional teams and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Ability to manage complex business operations, including risk management, performance monitoring, and managing planning and design of projects with construction values exceeding $100 million.
  • Deep understanding of the building services sector, including relationships, industry trends, challenges, and opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values, actively engaged in professional or industry associations, and able to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors, and marketing managers.

This is a full-time position based in our Sydney office, with requirements for travel both domestically and internationally to connect with your team, clients, and global colleagues.
