Job Title: Technical Writer
Job Summary:
Synergy is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team at our Cockburn Power Station. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation for our site assets, ensuring that our workers have the necessary information to perform their tasks safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a documentation methodology and framework to ensure consistency and efficiency in our technical documentation.
- Interpret and analyze technical information to produce high-quality documentation for our site assets, following Process Safety & Asset Management risk management principles.
- Review, create, publish, and manage safety-critical documentation for Gas Generation, including Safe Work Instructions, Station Instructions, Plant Operating Instructions, and Maintenance Procedures.
- Collaborate with plant SMEs to gather technical information from site assets and lead the review and approval process for all site technical documentation, including management of change.
- Research technical information to develop detailed step-by-step instructions for the maintenance and operation of plant and equipment.
Requirements:
- Strong technical writing skills and experience in a heavy industry, mining, or engineering environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in English or equivalent qualification.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in architecting complex site documents and documentation sets, information design, and structured authoring documents.
- Ability to learn complex drafting and engineering concepts quickly and explain them with clarity and technical accuracy.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suites - Word and Excel specifically.
