About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Analyst to join our Operational Forecasting team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of short-term forecasts that support real-time operational decision-making across the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM).

The successful candidate will work closely with our weather providers and control rooms to translate weather risks into system impacts, ensuring operators have the information they need to make informed decisions.

You will be responsible for managing operational forecasting models, including the development of forecast models by updating inputs, parameters and variables to reflect system changes and improve performance.

This role requires strong analytical skills, with experience in data analysis and statistical modelling techniques. You will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports and presentations to communicate technical information to a broad range of stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering, mathematics, meteorology or a related discipline
  • Experience in the energy sector or similar industry, preferably in an operations, forecasting or analytical role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
