About the Department of Education
The Department plays a vital system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight, and assurance across early childhood and school education systems.
It directly provides school education and supports the development of 50 new early learning centres.
About the Curriculum and Teaching Practice Division
The division works collaboratively across the department, with schools, and with stakeholders to co-design and implement initiatives that support schools to deliver high-quality curriculum and teaching programs.
It has primary responsibility for advising and supporting government schools to deliver the Victorian Curriculum.
The division responds to student needs and aspirations, as well as those of school communities.
- provides policies and guidance in areas such as assessment and reporting, languages education, Holocaust education, literacy instruction, mathematics and numeracy education
- develops lesson plans, toolkits, and other teaching and learning resources for classroom use
- designs and delivers high-quality professional learning in key curriculum areas
About the Role
An ongoing opportunity exists to join the Curriculum and Teaching Practice Division as an Executive Support Officer.
In this pivotal role, you will provide administrative and program support to the Executive Director, ensuring the smooth operation of the Division.
You will play a key role in managing your workload, building stakeholder relationships, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- manages the Executive Director's diary and inbox, including scheduling meetings, booking facilities, and preparing meeting papers.
- coordinates and tracks incoming and outgoing briefings and correspondence.
- provides administrative support across corporate service functions.
- liaises with internal and external stakeholders.
- fosters a collaborative team environment.
- undertakes additional duties as required.
