The Role

The Operations team at Javelin is responsible for overseeing the logistics, reconciliation, confirmation, and settlement processes for commodity transactions. Collaborating closely with traders, finance, technology, and legal teams, operations ensure accurate risk management and comprehensive support throughout the trade lifecycle.

As Javelin continues to expand, we are seeking an Operations Analyst/Associate to enhance our team in Krakow. This dynamic role will complement the efforts of existing team members and contribute to the achievement of the Operations Group's objectives on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  1. Validating trades using internal systems
  2. Drafting and reviewing sale and purchase agreements, along with framework agreements for various bulk commodities
  3. Coordinating with the Trading, Legal, and Logistics teams to address queries and discrepancies
  4. Managing and maintaining the internal database
  5. Reconciling settlements
  6. Validating and reviewing invoices using proprietary accounts payable software
  7. Documenting processes and procedures to ensure compliance with audit requirements
  8. Coordinating schedules for commodity deliveries
  9. Arranging inland deliveries within Central and Eastern Europe with transport carriers
  10. Generating shipping, rail, and truck documentation
  11. Building and nurturing relationships with clients, ports, and transport providers
Requirements:
  1. Fluency in both Polish and English
  2. Self-motivated and proactive individual with over 2 years of experience in Commodities Operations, ideally across various commodities
  3. A strong work ethic to drive team progress and advocate for technology-driven solutions
  4. Proven ability to coordinate with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operational processes
  5. Capacity to collaborate effectively across locations, particularly with the London headquarters
  6. Ability to monitor and implement controls within trading risk systems
  7. Familiarity with Incoterms
  8. Understanding of logistics and testing standards
  9. Knowledge of trade finance and commodity banking processes is preferred
  10. Strong organizational skills
  11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  12. Ability to manage and prioritize workload across different time zones, assessing urgency and importance of requests
  13. Capability to convey challenging messages to clients and colleagues
  14. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform well under pressure
