Mackay Hospital and Health Service is seeking a Speech Pathologist to join their team on a temporary basis. The Community Health and Therapy Services at Mackay Base Hospital provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management for individuals needing help with communication and/or swallowing.
About the Role:
- This position will deliver clinical services to consumers of Community Health and Therapy Services, including outreach to regional areas, as determined through the Hospital and Health Services Plan and priorities.
- The successful candidate will work as a member of a transdisciplinary team, delivering clinical services to consumers in the Mackay HHS area, covering a range of clinical conditions and complexities.
- This role operates within a Professional Skill-Sharing and Delegation model of care by providing and participating in supervision and training in the use of skill-shared and delegated clinical tasks, and by delivering an expanded scope of clinical practice.
About Our Team:
- The Speech Pathology Service delivers care to patients, both children and adults, throughout our hospital departments as well as in outpatient, community, and rural settings.
- Our Speech Pathologists provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management to individuals needing help with communication and/or swallowing.
- Community Health and Therapy Services play a vital role in the continuum of care for consumers and their carers at discharge from acute care through to re-establishment in the consumers' residence, or when necessary, transitioning to residential care settings.
