Infrastructure Development Specialist

The Department of Education is committed to supporting Victorians in building prosperous and healthy lives through lifelong learning and development.

The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) plays a key role in overseeing Victoria's largest school building program since the introduction of free public education in the 1870s.

The VSBA upgrades and expands existing schools and plans, designs, and builds new schools to meet enrolment demand. It also supports schools in maintaining their buildings and grounds by providing expert advice and coordinating maintenance programs and grants.

As a member of the Major Projects & Property Division, you will be responsible for delivering educational infrastructure projects and programs, including land acquisition and management, as well as the delivery of capital infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to project managers and project officers across all aspects of project execution.
  • Ensuring that works programs are administered, key milestones are achieved, and that delivery, performance, and financial targets are met.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders on matters related to project planning, design, legal, and communications.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also necessary, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop recommendations.
