We are seeking an expert in aerodynamic analysis to join our team as a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer. This is a key role that requires strong technical skills and the ability to apply complex engineering models and simulations to predict the aerodynamic environments experienced by our vehicles during all phases of their missions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Aerodynamic Analysis: Prepare, mesh, run, and post-process computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models to predict the aerodynamic and thermal environments experienced by our vehicles.
  • Data Review: Review post-flight data and compare it to pre-flight estimates to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Interface with Engineers: Interface with responsible engineers, providing them with essential inputs and ensuring they understand the physical phenomena involved.
  • Code Development: Write code and scripts in various languages, ensuring they share common interfaces and can be part of an automated workflow.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline such as aerospace or mechanical engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in aerodynamic and aerothermal analysis.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Master's degree or PhD in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with Siemens STAR-CCM+ and developing scripts in Java for it.
  • Experience with solvers used by NASA, such as FUN3D, Loci/CHEM, and DPLR.
  • Experimental testing experience.
  • Data processing and analysis in MATLAB or Python.
  • Experience with Siemens NX.
  • Strong background in external, compressible fluid dynamics.
