Job Summary

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our clients, providing them with the support and care they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and active support to clients in their chosen activities
  • Support clients to make real choices and engage in activities or required tasks during program or in the community
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene needs of supported persons, such as toileting and meal assistance
  • Provide a safe physical and emotional learning environment
  • Maintain strict confidentiality on all matters regarding the people we support
  • Promote clients' independence

Requirements

  • Previous experience working and supporting people with a disability and experience working with participants who display behaviours of concern
  • A strong desire to provide quality client service
  • Flexibility and ability to be adaptive
  • Highly professional and able to act in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner
  • Current police check less than 3 months old or willingness to undertake one with Annecto
  • Current First Aid (with 12 months to run) and CPR Qualifications (with 6 months to run) or willingness to update
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check Clearance
  • Current Driver's License
  • Must have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in line with the Victorian Government Public Health directions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in a similar industry or position
  • Fluency in an additional language
  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability Care or higher
  • Completed the online NDIS Worker Orientation Module - Quality Safety & You
