The Team

The IT Infrastructure team oversees storage and networking components within the Technology department. This includes proactive LAN and WAN maintenance, configuration, physical and logical hygiene, backup, and server architecture, ensuring the administration of EMC, Power scale, HP SAN, NetApp, Nutanix, and NAS infrastructure.

The Role

This senior position guides the immediate Infrastructure team and technology department (including architectural functions) on issues related to network and storage systems design and deployment, applying proven best practice communications and problem-solving skills.

Daily operations involve administration and maintenance of SBS's Network and Storage environments and resolving problems/issues.

  • Implementing, developing, documenting, testing, and maintaining LAN and WAN networks, routers, switches, and firewall solutions; working independently, in teams, and with vendors.
  • Maintaining underlying storage platforms according to best practices covering monitoring, reporting, performance, capacity, availability, and security management, regardless of the platform used.
  • Leading cloud transformation/migration requirements for the Network and Storage team.

This role is expected to innovate, ensure quality improvement, safeguard data transmission integrity, implement industry best practice and SBS requirements, and meet both.

This position requires incumbents to be vaccinated with at least two doses of an approved Covid-19 vaccination. We have a medical exemption process and are happy to discuss your application if applicable.

About You

  • A degree in computer science or comparable qualifications.
  • Operational experience with Cisco networking.
  • Cisco Catalyst 6000 and Cisco Nexus 9K switching families and VXLA.
  • Cisco Checkpoint Firewalls, Cisco Firepower 2000/4000 series firewalls.
  • Cisco ASA 5000 series and Cisco AST 1000 series routers.
  • Operational experience with Dell Isilon/Powerscale, NetApp, SAN technologies.
  • Cisco CCNA certification.
  • Operational experience with Cisco Prime and Cisco DCNM management platforms.
  • Knowledge of RIP and BGP protocols.
  • Knowledge of Cisco WAPs, WLC, and ISE.
  • Familiarity with SDN & SDDC technologies and their applications.
  • Solid Routing and Switching skills.
  • Operational experience with backup solutions, especially Veeam and Commvault.
  • Operational experience with Data Replication, snapshots, and Virtualisation Technology (VMWare).
  • Familiarity with L4-7 services integration in a data centre environment.

Required Soft Skills:

  • The candidate should reach the Career Level of Manager/Senior Manager or higher.
