The Adelaide Lightning is seeking an experienced and highly organized professional to fill the role of Operations Manager. This position plays a pivotal part in the smooth running of all operational aspects of the team, including planning and delivering home games, coordinating team logistics, and providing administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Game Day & Event Operations:
    • Plan and deliver all home games to a professional standard, ensuring compliance with WNBL, broadcast, and venue requirements.
    • Oversee in-venue presentation, signage, entertainment, vendors, and fan engagement activities.
    • Manage game day staff, volunteers, and contractors, including recruitment, training, and scheduling.
    • Coordinate with venue, security, catering, and technical suppliers.
  • Team & Basketball Operations:
    • Manage team travel logistics, including flights, accommodation, and ground transport.
    • Coordinate training schedules, venue bookings, and equipment requirements.
    • Liaise with the WNBL, and opposition teams on scheduling and game requirements.
    • Maintain accurate player and staff records, including compliance with league and club policies.
  • CEO & Administration Support:
    • Provide executive assistance to the CEO, including diary management, correspondence, and meeting coordination.
    • Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, and internal documentation.
    • Support the coordination of commercial, community, and media events.
    • Maintain operational budgets and process invoices and expense claims.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3+ years' experience in operations, events, or sports administration.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex events with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing travel, scheduling, and logistical arrangements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with digital admin tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in professional sport or high-performance environments (desirable).
