**Job Title:** Mechanical Technician

Job Description:

This is a key role in our organization where you will be responsible for conducting Set to Work (STW) activities, testing, commissioning, maintaining and ensuring the operation of the Hunter Class Frigate's mechanical systems.

  • Conduct STW, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of Hull & Deck and/or Power & Propulsion systems.
  • Train and qualify as an Authorised Individual to operate and maintain HCF systems.
  • Plan, check, and carry out mechanical isolations of ship equipment and systems.
  • Complete test, maintenance, and STW documentation using relevant digital tools.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5–10 years' experience in commissioning and/or maintenance of mechanical systems (Hull & Deck or Power & Propulsion).
  • Experience with hydraulic systems and/or mechanical elements of propulsion systems is highly regarded.
  • Hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, and verification of systems.
  • A minimum Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical, or an equivalent/higher industry-recognised mechanical qualification.
