The Front Office Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest experiences from the outset. They oversee all aspects of front office operations, ensuring the department is set up for success and creates a warm atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the front office department, including guest check-in/check-out processes, room allocation, handling guest inquiries, and managing reservations.
- Hiring and training front office staff to ensure they possess the necessary skills to deliver outstanding service.
- Overseeing the setup and integration of technology such as property management systems and point-of-sale systems to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
- Contributing to the development of strategies to further enhance the guest experience through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure adequate inventory of essential items and liaising with suppliers and vendors as necessary.
- Managing day-to-day staffing needs, planning and assigning work, establishing performance and development goals for team members, and providing regular feedback.
- Serving as a liaison between the front office department and other hotel departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
- Conducting trial stays and testing front office procedures to identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Collaborating closely with the sales and marketing team to develop promotional materials, packages, and campaigns.
Key qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or Business Administration.
- Three years of guest service/hotel experience, preferably in a management capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and passion for developing and motivating teams.
- Strategic thinking and ability to explore new ways of working.
- Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
