About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Food Services Assistant to join our hospitality team at Newcastle Private Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
  • Deliver, serve, and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
  • Assist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils, including dish and pot washing as required
  • Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture
  • Provide high standards of customer service
  • Operate in line with WHS policy and procedures
  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients, and patients
  • Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development
Requirements
  • Authority to Work in Australia
  • Working with Children check
  • 2 years' experience in a similar role within a Hospital or Aged care environment
  • Completed Basic Food Handling Training (or working towards)
  • Certificate III in Hospitality (or working towards)
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Commitment to service excellence
  • Strong communication and customer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Availability for a variety of shifts and on-call shifts
