About this Position:

The Flood Restoration Portfolio has an excellent opportunity for a highly qualified Senior Procurement Specialist to join our esteemed team working on the Lismore Restoration project. In this pivotal role, you will oversee contractor, subcontractor, and supplier procurement processes, ensuring the project achieves its procurement objectives while optimizing engagement within the supply chain.

Job Description:

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advice on procurement and contract management-related matters across the Portfolio.
  • Conducting and supporting the procurement process, using best practices and judgment to make decisions on procurement and contract-related activities essential to the portfolio's operations.
  • Assisting with preparing and reviewing written material, including reports, contracts, and procurement documentation.
  • Delivering procurement and contract management training to team members to build capability and capacity in line areas, including preparing policies, guides, templates, and procedures.
  • Managing and administering procurement and contract management tools, processes, forms, templates, and policies.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing suppliers to contract negotiations and selection.
  • Actively seeking ways to streamline business processes; researching and providing information on industry category trends and best practices.
  • Providing input to maximize procurement leverage, optimize project design, and minimize project duration and costs.
  • Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and qualifications.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop procurement strategies that meet their needs.
  • Monitoring and tracking supplier performance and maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information.
  • Ensuring compliance with Council policies and procedures and applicable legal requirements.
  • Continuously evaluating and improving procurement processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate Level 4 qualification and extensive experience in procurement activities and documentation preparation.
  • Strong understanding of procurement systems and processes and developing procedures and processes.
  • Sound working knowledge of local government legislative requirements about procurement activities.
  • Current Class C Driver's License.
  • Acceptance of new ideas and embracing change.

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Other Information:
