HSE Specialist Job Summary:

We are seeking a HSE Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs, policies, procedures, and processes within our facility and across various business segments.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Implement HSE programs, policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Develop and review risk assessments and job safety analyses to identify potential hazards and implement controls.
    • Maintain accurate records of legal and regulatory requirements, including permits and licenses.
    • Provide guidance to local management on HSE regulatory compliance and industry practices.
    • Collaborate with facility management to prepare Business Continuity Plans.
    • Design and deliver HSE training programs and matrices to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
    • Implement HSE controls and bridging documents for personnel working at customer sites.
    • Foster a culture of safe working practices, observing and correcting at-risk conditions or behavior.
    • Support operational tenders and supply chain database registration.
    • Conduct HSE audits and participate in workplace inspections.
    • Promote near miss reporting and investigate workplace incidents.
    • Coordinate waste streams and disposal to maximize reuse and recycling opportunities.
    • Collect and monitor data for ESG reporting.
    • Maintain Emergency Response Plans.
    • Schedule and record emergency drills.
    • Document Level III HSE procedures.
    • Prepare monthly HSE reports on key performance indicators and objectives.
    • Support HSE communications and meetings.
    • Provide general HSE support to other locations and business units.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: A degree in a related field such as occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Proven experience in HSE roles, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Skillset: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
