We are seeking an experienced manager to lead a team of legal policy officers and deliver criminal law policy projects in the Attorney-General's portfolio. This is a fixed-term, full-time opportunity.

About the Role

As a Manager in our Criminal Law Policy (CLP) unit, you will play a vital role in providing leadership and technical expertise across the team. You will work collaboratively with other managers and support the Senior Manager and Director to drive the outcomes and objectives of the department in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of legal policy officers to develop and deliver complex policy or law reform projects
  • Develop team capabilities at an individual and team level
  • Work collaboratively with other managers and stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the Senior Manager and Director as needed
Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in law is required
  • Extensive experience managing a team to develop and deliver complex policy or law reform projects
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of processes for developing policy and legislation within a parliamentary system
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills to work collaboratively with partners
